About Gabby Sharp
Masters-trained Physiotherapist , Director of Sharp Physiotherapy
With over 20 years of clinical experience spanning hospital, orthopaedic and community settings, as well as private practice, I bring a depth and breadth of knowledge that shapes every patient encounter.
I hold a Clinical Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with a focus on manipulative therapy, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Acupuncture — both from AUT University — and I continue to develop my practice through ongoing learning in all areas.
I am also trained in both reformer and mat Pilates and incorporate a wide variety of exercise-based rehabilitation into my treatment approach, including strength and conditioning, stretching and flexibility work, and Pilates-based programmes. This allows me to offer a truly integrated approach to rehabilitation and injury prevention, tailored to each patient’s individual goals and fitness level.
I believe great physiotherapy starts with a great assessment. I take the time to thoroughly understand your problem, establish a clear diagnosis, and then work collaboratively with you to agree on a treatment approach that suits your lifestyle and goals. Whether that’s hands-on manual therapy, acupuncture, Pilates-based rehabilitation or a combination — we decide together.
I have been privileged to work with a wide range of patients throughout my career, from everyday injuries to elite athletes, including crew members of the Volvo Ocean Race during their Auckland stopover, national representative football and netball teams, triathletes and the Cook Island netball team.
